This is a lovely Black Opal, mined from the Lightening Ridge Opal field in Australia. It has a beautiful sweeping and swirling pattern that gives it a unique and sassy presence.
This is not a doublet or triplet. It is a solid crystal black Opal from Lightening Ridge.
The length of the pendant itself is 17mm (for reference, 25mm is roughly an inch), and the complete pendant is 5.93 cts.
This magical Opal is set in .925 Sterling silver with a .925 Sterling silver, 1.3mm width, 16" length Singapore chain.
Opal is determined to be Black Opal based on a body tone/background color rating system. Anything rated an N1-N4 is considered Black Opal, which will rarely appear as true black in color. More common is a darker grey/blue body color.
This Opal was determined in the Australian mine to be a body tone of N2.
